PiTracer 4704/04, Amazing cd transport.. turns playing a CD into an art form.

This player is quite something, the disc is placed upside down on the platter and the top moves over the disc. It’s a bit like having a turntable the disc is clamped down.

It is based around a Sanyo laser assembly and with a customised servo board. The V grove platter system I have never seen before and it is really robust,

Servicing is a little tricky and the mechanics if a little fun to get your head around however it has this sense achievement when you see it playing. These I gather were not cheap around $25k so around £19k but that would depend on the exchange rate and the relevant taxes at the time of purchase which would have been around 15 years ago.
